WIRED gave a great talk on the future of digital publishing. They spoke about how a lot of readability has been lost in web design, and how they have been working on creating a better reading experience - an opportunity they see blown wide open by the new tablets coming out this year. WIRED see tablet computers as “combining the best features or print and online”.
The audience was blown away by the gorgeous design and amazing functionality that the tablet version of the magazine. One of the interesting demos was opportunities for advertisers, being able to repurpose traditional print ads so readers can explore the image, or creating new assets that you can interact with.
